Mini Viva - Left My Heart In Tokyo (Pete Hammond remix)
Posted at 11:02 AM, 16 August 2009 -

Mini Viva have been compared to '80s sister duo Mel & Kim (who were under the guidance of production team Stock Aitken Waterman) from their very beginning, so being remixed by Pete Hammond seems very fitting. Hammond was one of the key figures to the success of the SAW sound, producing and mixing some of their most classic tracks.

Pete Hammond was the Chief Mix Engineer and Producer and was credited on all the PWL and SAW records as the "Mixmaster". In the past year, Hammond has been doing Stock Aitken Waterman-esque re-workings for Wynonna Judd, Alphabeat and Lonnie Gordon, and now he's done it again for "Left My Heart In Tokyo". The song now sounds like something taken from the Mel & Kim catalogue - it even echoes "Showing Out (Get Fresh At The Weekend".

"Left My Heart In Tokyo" has also been remixed by Chris Lake, Kush, Spog, Treasure Fingers, Acid Girls and Fred Falke (whose dub mix is currently sitting on the iTunes chart).
