The demos of the Xenomania-produced "Beautiful people" and "This used to be the future" are now available on Pet Shop Boys' official website.
To listen to the demos, go to the website and then click on Navigation -> Product -> Exclusive tracks.
"Beautiful people" is very stripped back, without the lush '60s-style instrumentation. It sounds smoother and cleaner. It's interesting to hear how it was later developed by the Xenomania team.
"This used to be the future" doesn't sound too dissimilar - it is however a bit longer, the bass seems heavier and the production is not as crisp and "futuristic" as the final version. Neil Tennant does most of the vocals on this one.
Meanwhile, in the US charts, "Love etc." has reached a new peak on Billboard's Hot Dance Club Play Chart, climbing to #4.
